Street Style Mexican Corn on its Cob

But if you come from a Mexican family, then you probably know corn is an essential ingredient to Mexican cuisine and that its uses go all the way back to pre-hispanic times. Despite its humble origins, corn is one of the most important grains in Mexican homes. We practically eat it everyday, as it is the main ingredient in corn tortillas. However, one of the most popular ways to eat corn is as a snack. 

Mexican corn can be eaten on its cob or in a cup, and it is a very easy and cheap snack idea that everybody loves. It is very common to see food stands all around Mexico’s streets. You’ll find from taco to fruit stands, and of course corn stands. This delicious street food is usually prepared with mayo, lime and salt, cotija cheese and your favorite type of chili powder.
