Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea)
In Mexican gastronomy, we not only pride ourselves on our delicious and colorful dishes. There is also a crucial part of our cuisine that must always make it to the table: Drinks. Aguas Frescas play an indispensable role in Mexican food. In Mexico there is not a single restaurant where they are not included in the menu, as they are as important as tacos themselves. Just like the rest of our cuisine, Aguas Frescas also come in many colors and varieties. They are usually made of fruits, flowers, or cereals combined with water and sugar. Among the most popular you will find Horchata, Tamarindo, Limon and Jamaica.
With all that being said, for today’s recipe we wanted to show you how to make Jamaica water (Hibiscus tea). We recently launched our new Hibiscus Flowers bags; therefore, an Agua de Jamaica recipe was long overdue. We hope you enjoy it, cheers!
